Einstein says, “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” As educators, our goal is that our children will not only enjoy learning, but that they will engage in a meaningful activity to express their learning. It is our greatest hope that the methodologies we use will result in retention ~ that our children will retain knowledge. Charlotte Mason tells us that unless a child has produced something from the learning, it will not be remembered. The answer to this is notebooking, also called creative written narration. Charlotte Mason describes how the delight her students experienced while engaging in notebooking. Jeannie discovered that from elementary through high school, children delighted in their lessons and remembered it forever when notebooking was used. In this talk, she will share with you why and how to employ this incredible tool in your homeschool. Because it is a game changer.
