Spirit Led Homeschooling

As homeschool moms, we feel the pressure to do everything we can possibly do to make sure our children succeed. That is a lot of pressure, but what if it is not really up to us? Charlotte Mason challenged us to trust the Holy Spirit as the ultimate leader and teacher. We should not only pray over our curriculum, but we must fully embrace the belief that the God of the universe is also the God of math, science, reading, and all subjects. Charlotte Mason calls this, “the great recognition, that God the Holy Spirit is Himself, personally, the Imparter of Knowledge, the Instructor of Youth, the Inspirer of Genius.” She believed that “every fruitful idea, every original conception, whether in Euclid, or grammar, or music, was a direct inspiration from the Holy Spirit.” We should teach everything in a way that leaves room for the Holy Spirit to do His work.

Minivan Ministries’ wants to help you navigate this crazy road called “life.” Our goal is to help you help your children fall in love with Jesus. We explore different avenues to help you disciple your children, but one of our favorites is homeschooling! We have practiced an eclectic approach in the past, but lean more and more towards the Charlotte Mason Method.  It’s simply a beautiful, peaceful, Spirit-led way of exploring the world with your children and truly teaches them to love learning.

At Minivan Ministries, you can find practical helps such as Bible studies, fun ideas for literature exploration, morning time resources, planner pages, church note-booking pages, thankfulness journals, and more.  We hope you will join our caravan!

365+ Days of Thankfulness

“365+ Days of Thankfulness” is a special journal to inspire you to think outside the box. God has given you so many good gifts–more than just family and friends, although they are important. Every day, list a few things that you are thankful for under a new category. By discovering just 3 things you are thankful for every day, you could make a list of 1,095 things to be thankful for! If you wrote just 5 per day, you could find 1,825 things to be thankful for!  If you wrote just 3 things per day, you would still have over 1,000 different things to inspire a thankful heart!
