Class Dates: Thursday January 12th & 26th, at 12 PM (PST).
William Shakespeare is considered the greatest dramatist of all time as well as the most influential writer in the history of the English language. He not only authored 38 plays and 154 sonnets, but he also originated hundreds of words and phrases English speakers still use today. Shakespeare’s characters transcends time, and his plays depict familiar experiences, ranging from family squabbles to falling in love to war. Charlotte Mason wrote:
And Shakespeare? He, indeed, is not to be classed, and timed, and treated as one amongst others,—he, who might well be the daily bread of the intellectual life; Shakespeare is not to be studied in a year; he is to be read continuously throughout life, from ten years old and onwards. But a child of ten cannot understand Shakespeare. No; but can a man of fifty?
Join us, as we come together and “get to know” the writer behind the masterpieces, and gather courage to invite The Bard to be a recurring guest in our homeschools.
