Courageous Identity

You scroll through social media, your heart in your throat, your mind racing…what has happened to sanity and truth? Why are there such blatant attacks on the identity of the youth of this generation? Has the world gone completely crazy? Where is the TRUTH in all of this chaos? What can you do to protect your kids and equip them to be salt and light in this terrifying culture? How can you guide them through the landmines threatening to destroy them before they get out your door? Between the outspoken condemnation of anything deemed intolerant and hateful and the sexualizing of our culture, we parents often feel outnumbered. We fight the urge to hide away or to find a middle-ground. But there can be no hiding and no compromising with Satan, who wants to destroy our families. We must step up and prepare for battle by knowing and teaching Who God is and who He says we are. In this session, Angela brings all of her experience and training to the table to lay out the battle plan to train ourselves and our children in Courageous Identity. Joshua 1:9 (ESV) “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” This session also includes a look at how digital technology has been affecting the brain development of Gen Z and how this is playing into the battle for their minds.

An Atmosphere of Sympathy: Being Our Children’s Ally

Charlotte Mason wrote and taught extensively about being our children’s ally, but what does that mean? How can we, in practical terms, nurture an atmosphere of sympathy in our homes? Proverbs 24:3-4 says: Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Through my years of parenting and homeschooling, I’ve learned there are specific “choices of understanding” we can make on a daily basis, which will establish the team work required for being our children’s ally. This workshop discusses these choices and gives practical pointers for applying them in our everyday homeschooling lives.

Growing Naturally in Language Skills

Confident writing ability is the result of well-developed thinking and communication skills. Charlotte Mason placed high value on encouraging the children to tap into and develop their God-given love of telling what they know. In this session, Angela speaks from her own experience of employing the Charlotte Mason approach to teaching language skills to her own children.

Courageous Identity: Learning Who God is and who He says we are, and bringing the Truth into the lives of those around us.
