My name is Heather Woodie and I’ve been blogging at BlogSheWrote.org for 16 years. I have a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a M.S.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction Secondary Education, and I’m on a mission to help families with out of the box, sick, and neurodivergent teens homeschool high school with purpose and peace.
Our four kids have always been out of the box and throughout high school and into college, we learned that their “out of the box-ness” has names.
We’ve homeschooled teens with severe chronic illnesses, ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression and guided them through the high school years and successfully launched them to college with scholarships, an Ivy League admission, and part time community college. Our youngest is a senior in high school and he is perhaps the most out of the box of them all.
Our two oldest finished college well and graduated with honors and distinction. Now they are both thriving, one as a technical writer and the other as an entrepreneur.
My mission is to help you to navigate the challenges you have with your teen, whether they have a diagnosis or not, so that your teen can have a personalized high school experience that meets their needs, along with all the tools and knowledge to apply to and have a successful college admission to a school which will help them to thrive.

In this workshop, we’re going to talk about different strategies for working with your teen’s brain in the high school years to help our teens to thrive, to help them learn about how they learn best, and to avoid burnout now and in the future.
